It is with a mix of sadness and gratitude that we announce Pamela Civins, our Executive Director since 2006, will be stepping down from her role at the end of the calendar year.
Pamela has played a critical role in the development and success of our organization. While we will miss her and her inspiring leadership, we wish her the best of luck in her next endeavor. We want to thank her for the nearly 12 years of dedicated service to not only to Boston Partners in Education, but to the students of the Boston Public Schools. Over the years, she has grown our presence and led many significant accomplishments.
At Boston Partners in Education, our team interacts with leaders across many industries, spanning Greater Boston’s neighborhoods. We work with principals and teachers, elected and appointed officials, C-suite executives, philanthropists, and other non-profit leaders to enhance the education of the next generation of influencers. As we look to the years ahead, we have reflected on the many leaders who have been so committed to our mission and identified the qualities our growing organization needs in our next Executive Director.
We are looking for a leader who believes that building partnerships and prioritizing investments in the lives of our City’s students is vital to their future – and our own. A leader who is committed not only to the success of our organization, but the professional growth and success of our staff. A leader who recognizes that individual community members can have a lasting impact on social good. A leader who will remain mission-driven while thinking outside the box. A leader who will open every door possible, who truly believes in realizing the value of the potential.
As our Executive Director for the past 11 years, Pamela Civins has embodied all these characteristics, and while filling her shoes will be no small feat, we are confident in the team we have in place responsible for undertaking this task.
Over the next few months, a search committee will be working hard to find the new Boston Partners in Education Executive Director. That said, we recognize how valuable an asset our network has been and will continue to be, and welcome the thoughts and suggestions of our community.
Should you know anyone that is looking to join and lead our wonderful team, the job description is available here. We are so pleased to have so many loyal supporters and advocates at our side during this transition.
