Program Director

About the Organization:

Boston Partners in Education (Boston Partners) enhances the academic achievement and nurtures the personal growth of Boston’s public school students by providing them with focused, individualized, in-school support. Boston Partners recruits, trains, places and supports volunteers to work with students in grades K-12, one-on-one or in small groups, primarily during the school day. Boston Partners in Education is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Position Description:

The Program Director is responsible for the oversight of Boston Partners in Education’s core programming including supervision of partnerships managers, evaluation, strategic planning, and coordination with internal and external constituents. They are a member of Boston Partners in Education’s management team, and is the staff liaison to the Board of Directors’ Program Committee. The Program Director works closely with and reports to the Executive Director. This is a full-time, exempt position.


Duties & Responsibilities:

Programmatic Operations Management

  • Oversee plans for all core programming
  • Create and maintain programmatic procedures
  • Maintain programmatic quality
  • Submit work plan and final reports to Boston Public Schools (BPS) Partnerships office  annually
  • Ensure accountability with Committed Partnerships model both internally and externally
  • Work with Marketing team  to ensure that program elements of the website are current
  • Work with COO on developing budgets
  • Assist the Match Support Team in creating and updating match support strategies
  • Coordinate Partnership Newsletter with Marketing Team (planning content, sourcing and creating copy, researching mentor resources) and edit newsletter monthly

Technical

  • Use Salesforce to accurately report out program data and create contact lists for mass communications
  • Work with Salesforce admins to manage how the Partnership and  Match Support Teams uses current systems around match support, including SFDC dashboards, email templates, GetFeedback, Form Assembly, Check In system, and other tools as needed
  • Collaborate with staff to improve the collection, tabulation, analysis, and reporting of student and volunteer outcome data

Leadership

  • Create and support strategic goals for programs
  • Identify areas for growth in alignment with BPS priorities
  • Oversee Partnerships team and facilitate Partnership Support team meetings    
  • Provide direct supervision to multiple team members
  • Act as staff liaison to Board Program Committee
  • Represent Boston Partners in Education at public events as needed
  • Participate as a member of the Senior Management Team

Community Relations

  • Present to BPS staff and other partners
  • Lead relationship with BPS Office of Human Capital to manage CORI Background check process
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with the Office of School and Community Partnerships at BPS and other key offices
  • Work with marketing team on program related messaging and materials
  • Manage Boston Partners general inquiry email inbox

Other duties

  • Participate as a member of AMP! planning committee
  • Support annual volunteer fundraising drive and annual fundraising gala
  • Participate in program and organization-wide team building and strategic planning events.
  • Perform other duties as requested

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of professional experience in program management preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skillsDemonstrated track record of leadership with results and the ability to influence others to achieve outcomes, including influencing and motivating teams
  • A self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit; one who can work independently to achieve goals after receiving broad direction
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data for outcomes, impact and systems improvement
  • Experience working with diverse populations and communities and building relationships across lines of difference
  • Willingness to travel around the city
  • Knowledge of the key players and issues impacting the Boston educational landscape and ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders through conversations and in writing
  • Proven track record and ability to organize, plan and execute multiple streams of work, meet deadlines and maintain timely correspondence/follow up
  • Microsoft and Google Suite experience
  • Database (e.g. SalesForce) experience preferred
  • WordPress experience a plus
  • Dedication to the mission and values of Boston Partners in Education
  • Multilingual a plus
