About the Organization:
Boston Partners in Education (Boston Partners) enhances the academic achievement and nurtures the personal growth of Boston’s public school students by providing them with focused, individualized, in-school support. Boston Partners recruits, trains, places and supports volunteers to work with students in grades kindergarten through twelve, one-on-one or in small groups, primarily during the school day. Boston Partners in Education is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization.
Position Description:
The Development Associate is an entry level full time position providing support to the fundraising and communications functions of the Development team. They are supervised by the Development Manager and work closely with the Executive Director.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain fundraising records in Salesforce CRM
- Assist with donor stewardship by preparing acknowledgment and thank you letters and assisting with donor events
- Coordinate three external mailings annually
- Solicit, track & package items for the annual gala auctions (silent & live)
- Prepare reports as needed for the development team on overall fundraising and individual donors
- Assist the development team in prospect research
- Other duties as assigned
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Competent with databases, Salesforce experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel
- Highly organized, strong attention to details
- Capable of meeting concurrent deadlines
- Strong analytical skills
- A self-starter, who is able and willing to take initiative and problem solve
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Works well in collaborative environment
- Familiar with social media sites
