Independent Learning Support
Nomination Form

Boston Partners in Education's Independent Learning Support (ILS) program matches interested 1st through 12th grade Boston Public Schools students with volunteer academic mentors. Students meet virtually, one-on-one, with mentors once a week outside of school time, to improve their academic performance, receive social-emotional support, and work toward their goals.

One-on-one virtual mentoring sessions take place on the Google Meet video conferencing platform. We personally interview, train, and run CORI background checks on all of our volunteers. Still, we strongly recommend a family member or trusted adult be present with students during their sessions to monitor and help with any technical issues. Learn more about Boston Partners in Education's Independent Learning Support program here.

We make new mentoring matches from September until late April. While we strive to match as many students as possible, we cannot guarantee that your student will be matched. For the best chances of being matched, please nominate your student as early in the school year as possible. We strive to match as many students as possible, but cannot guarantee your student will be matched. Please contact us at [email protected] or call (617) 451-6145 with any questions.
