Boston Partners in Education is now hiring for a full-time Partnerships Manager position

About the Organization:

Boston Partners in Education (Boston Partners) enhances the academic achievement and nurtures the personal growth of Boston’s public school students by providing them with focused, individualized, in-school support. Boston Partners recruits, trains, places and supports volunteers to work with students in grades K-12, one-on-one or in small groups, primarily during the school day. Boston Partners in Education is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Position Description:

The Partnerships Manager will ensure quality matches between mentors and students by recruiting, interviewing, matching, and providing support for volunteer mentors in their assigned schools. They will also provide support around nomination, matching, and volunteer mentor engagement to the principal, teachers, school staff, and BPS families at the schools in their portfolio.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Partnerships Management
    • Recruit, screen, and match academic mentors for schools in their portfolio
    • Recruit, present to, and provide volunteer mentor/student matches for teachers and other relevant school personnel
    • Provide support to volunteer mentors, teachers, families and students after the match is made
    • Build on and deepen existing relationships with schools and work to develop new school partnerships as well as maintain existing partnerships
    • Build on and deepen existing relationships with mentors to increase retention through newsletters, mentor development sessions and emails
    • Participate as a member of team meetings and programmatic events
    • Participate as a key member of the AMP! planning committee
    • Participate in program and organization-wide team building and strategic planning events
    • Represent Boston Partners in Education at key partnership and recruitment events (may require some evening hours)
    • Management of part-time staff, such as Site Coordinators
  • Technical
    • Collaborate with staff to improve the collection, tabulation, analysis, and reporting of student and volunteer outcome data
    • Use Salesforce.com proficiently for matching volunteer mentors with students as well as for reporting
    • Assist in ongoing efforts to use evaluation results to improve program effectiveness
  • Strategic
    • Work with the the Senior Partnerships Manager, Program Director and Data and Evaluation Director to determine strategic vision for programs
    • Create and maintain priority list of BPS schools to increase recruitment and retention of volunteer mentors and student matches
    • Coordinate with marketing and partnership team to share stories about students’ successes/growth
    • Support annual volunteer fundraising drive and annual fundraising Gala

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Associate degree or higher preferred
  • Proficient in Google Workspace, Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Familiarity with databases, particularly Salesforce, a plus
  • Highly organized, ability to manage time with a strong attention to details
  • Capable of meeting concurrent deadlines
  • Willingness to travel around the city
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team oriented planning skills with ability to work independently
  • Bilingual Spanish/English strongly preferred
