Laura Lintz hails from Rochester, New York, and is a lifelong Buffalo Bills fan and Buffalo Wing lover. After graduating from Gettysburg College in 2001, Laura moved to Boston and volunteered as an Americorps VISTA with ReadBoston. Since then, Laura has worked in several Boston-based non-profits, including a three-year stint at Boston Partners in Education as the Power Lunch Manager and Grants Manager. Laura now works at Simmons College. She is also obtaining her Masters degree in Library Science from Simmons.
Laura was diagnosed with Type One (Juvenile) Diabetes at the age of 25. Since her diagnosis, Laura has become an avid runner, completing three half marathons in the past two years. At times, diabetes has been a struggle, but running has provided a positive outlet for the stress created by this chronic disease. This will be her first marathon. Laura is running to prove to herself that she can do it. |
