Jessica Baker grew up in Holland, Michigan, and moved to Boston in 2007. She began her undergraduate studies at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan, in 2004. While in school, she worked as an assistant high school track coach for a public school in Wyoming, Michigan. In the two years she spent coaching, she saw not only the improvement in her students' athletic performance but also the impact she had in their lives as a role model and mentor. Jessica started her career at Boston Partners in Education in 2008 working part-time on the Big Cheese Reads Initiative and continued as a graphic design intern, designing the material for The Big Cheese Reads Gala. She currently holds the full-time position of Development Associate for Boston Partners. In this position, Jessica is able to use her passion for communications and graphic design to illustrate Boston Partners in Education's presence and impact within the community. A graduate of The New England Institute of Art, she received a B.S. in Advertising in 2009. Jessica is an active volunteer and serves as the vice chair for the American Diabetes Association's Step Out: Walk to Fight Diabetes. This will be her first marathon. |
